Last weekend, we had four of our own compete at Battle for Middle Ground, one of the biggest fitness competitions in the UK. The standard was unbelievably high, in the Elite division, our team went toe-to-toe with athletes like Mitch Adams, who has competed at regionals five times! |

Liftin’ Viggarously, comprising Coach Loz and Chris Viggars, is the first team Sleven has ever sent to an Elite division in a competition. The pair made us extremely proud and had some special moments. In the “Worm Fran”, they produced a masterclass of synchro chest-to-bar pull-ups, while other teams were having a domestic!
The pair also did great in “Cluster Assault” a combination of a two rep max cluster in part A followed by everyone’s favourite, air bike and double-unders in part B! The pair managed a combined 165 kg between them in part A, followed by a blistering 6th place finish in part B, their best placing of the weekend! |

Jamie Brunsdon and Sam Woodhead, AKA Disobedient Schoolgirls, took part in a competitive RX division where the calibre of athletes was not far off the Elites. The two finished a very respectable 15th and is a fantastic result considering they’ve worked very little as a duo.
The pair truly turned on the style in the “Devil’s Row”, a WOD consisting of devil’s press and rowing. Jamie showed incredible speed on her devil’s press, so much so that when we saw the video of her performing the movement, we thought it was sped up! Sam then took the reins on the row and pulled our team to a 4th place finish, the Schoolgirls’ highest placing for the weekend.

Liz is a L2 CrossFit Coach, physiotherapist and qualified yoga instructor. Liz has designed the Workshop specifically for CrossFitters and you will learn the 10 best yoga poses and movements to enhance your range of motion, strength and stability.
Best of all, this Workshop is only £5, of which £2 is going towards breast cancer research. Come on down to the gym, get swole & flexy and do it all for a good cause! |

This week, we’re handing over our Strength classes to the experts! Last night, Sarah Hilton and Richard Munro, two of London’s most experienced weightlifting coaches, took the class through the snatch. Beginning with snatch-specific mobility work and warm-up drills, before Sarah broke the lift down into its individual elements. The class ended with an opportunity to put all of this into practice and max out, with Abdoul, James and Susie taking full advantage and making PB lifts!
Tomorrow evening, Sarah and Richard will be running a similar class focused on the clean & jerk. |

Stop what you’re doing right now and block out 14th OF DECEMBER on your calendar! Sleven is hosting its first independent Xmas party and boy, is it going to be fantastic!
We have booked out the Old Queen’s Head in Islington and have prepared a day chock full of activities for you. The day will start at the gym for the Sleven 12 Days of Xmas WOD. If you participated in it last year, you’ll remember it was a doozy!
Once you have returned home, freshened up and donned your favourite festive frock, we have reserved the Clubroom at our venue for an exclusive private Christmas lunch. The Clubroom is cosy yet spacious with our own private bar and host. Upon arrival, you will make your way to the bar for a complimentary welcome drink to get the day started. Lunch will be served as a three course meal served family style with sharing platters for each table. This way of eating is perfect to enjoy with your SLEVEN family! Each table will also be waiting for you with both red and white wine.

Once we’re done with lunch, we have reserved the Play Room upstairs. If you’re bored of talking about CrossFit, there are a bunch of activities to get you back in the mood including karaoke, retro arcade games, foosball, and twister! The drinks will flow via our own private host and refrigerator.
After the success of last year’s Secret Santa, we’re going to carry on the tradition again this year. Our resident intern, Emma Wilcock, will be taking care of all the details closer to the time.

The cost per person is £37.50 and we will take payment through Shopify at the gym or if you prefer, invoice you via Wodify. The deadline to sign up is 30th November.
